A clear view before you change anything

A consulting engagement answers a question you can state: what is going wrong, what would it take to fix, what should come first. The deliverable is written so your own team can act on it.

Share your site, service needs and timing.

How an engagement runs

Process:Consulting engagement

  1. Brief

Agree the question to answer, the sites or functions in scope, the people to speak to and the timeframe.

  2. Review

Current arrangements, records and working practices are examined against the agreed scope.

  3. Findings

Observations are set out plainly, separating what was seen from what is inferred, with the evidence noted.

  4. Recommendations

Practical changes are proposed in priority order, with the effort and the trade-offs stated for each.

  5. Handover

Deliverables are handed over with the assumptions written down, so your team can act without us in the room.

Common questions

What do we actually receive from a consulting engagement?

A written deliverable scoped at the start: what was reviewed, what was observed, what is recommended and in what order. The assumptions are stated so your team can act on the recommendations without us, and so you can tell which conclusions would change if a circumstance changed.

What do you need from us during an engagement?

Time with the people who do the work, access to the sites or records in scope, and one person on your side who can settle a question when it comes up. Agree all three at the brief stage; an engagement that has to wait for access produces thinner findings.
